Affiliate marketing from the start can be a hard nut to crack, the time and effort devoted to making your affiliate business a success can sometimes be a little mind boggling. It doesn’t have to be like that; in fact you would be surprised at how successful you can be. Through this blog I am only going to explain the basics that should not be too hard to follow. Given that you know some basic html and website building (templates are a good start) then that should be sufficient for you to start making money. Also of great importance are some other very important skills that you have got to try and attain as this is the backbone to your success. The top of the list of important skills you should try and master are your ad copy writing, this is your platform for your visitors to stay on you page and read on. The most important part of ad copy writing is the headline. The headline is the first thing your visitors see and if it doesn’t compel them to read on then there is a good chance they would leave your page immediately. Now given that all the above mentioned is accomplished or at the very least the beginning, then you have to choose a product that you can promote. To begin with, choose a product that you know and understand. Knowing the product gives you a better chance of knowing and understanding your customers. This is important because that’s how you are going sell the product, by understanding your prospects needs you can better communicate the product to them.
The product that you choose from the start doesn’t need to earn you big bucks per sale from the start. You start off simple and then build from that, taken in and documenting your experiences. I find that keeping your ad copy simple and then implementing this with a video (Youtube is a great source for videos), then finally adding your links can bring about great success. Broken down this is the basics – The prospect visits your webpage, reads the heading and if they are compelled to read on, then through the sales letter, they should be compelled to click on the links and if that’s so, then that is certainly a great start for the beginner. Now before making the final decision about what product you would like to promote, go to the vendor’s website and have a look at their sales letter (the sales letter is the whole body of the page). If their sales letter doesn’t do much then no amount of selling on your behalf is going to make you sales. You will know when you’ve done your job right because visitors would be clicking on your links. In that case be sure to choose a product with high conversion rates, that way with your webpage doing its job by sending your visitors to the vendors website you can almost guarantee you will make sales. When you create your page to place the product on remember it’s just a landing page which is meant to keep the prospects focus on the product that you are promoting. Distractions will only hinder your efforts, so try to avoid those. Choosing just one product is all you need from the start; this will keep things simple and shorten your learning curve. As you gain more experience, you may then like to build multi faceted websites with more products on them. I have found that by promoting one product from the beginning, it’s more likely you will have success. In comparison to the websites that I’ve build I have found that less often means more sales. I have created websites with a lot of content and visitors often stayed for a while before fleeing! So what I did was I tried to cram as much information as I could into the shortest sentences, compelled my visitors to click on the link to a high converting website and presto! Sales came pouring in. So the key is – keep it simple from the start. Tutorial packages can really make a difference to your marketing efforts there by accelerating your success. When I first started I didn’t have any success, so I bought Ewan Chia’s Affiliate Weapon 2 package Update - Free info is available at my site, see bottom for link. I learned a great deal from AW2 and its because of this I was able to make a great start. There are a few videos in this package and if you follow the steps carefully, then you are certainly going have success. But I must point out how successful you become depends on you, yes there are going to be some hard times but sticking with it will be definitely worth it.
